Bel Haven Paddlesports has long since become a landmark in the heart of the New Jersey Pinelands.  In 1953, William Bell and his twin brothers, Robert and Weldon, did what most of us dream of.  Armed with only a couple of shovels, they built a dam and created a lake.  Starting with 6 canoes and a beach, history had begun!

Staying true to the initial intention where families and individuals could spend time experiencing the splendor of the environment, the sacredness of our rivers, and the serenity of canoeing, our business philosophy has expanded but not changed.

Now, 55 years later, we are still family owned and operated.  Canoes have lined up along side kayaks, rental trips have become more like mini explorations and the demand for sales & service has made us a premiere regional paddling center in the Mid Atlantic.  Today the Bel Haven Lake and Marina answers the quest for the paddling enthusiasts with our year round test paddling promise!

We want to thank all of our patrons that we have seen over the years; the next generation to come and our dedicated staff that make it happen everyday!  For us, we are committed to the “Bell” name continuing to be synonymous to a landmark of quality outdoor recreation.

      "Drive Less, PADDLE MORE...!"

On Thursday evening, August 21st from 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm, Bel Haven Paddlesports (BHP) is pleased to sponsor a "Two In One Evening"; Our next on-water "Paddling Skills Clinic" AND "Water Workshop".  This continuing series of "free-of-charge" summer clinics will be conducted by two of BHP's own; ACA-Certified Kayak Instructor - Rich Ross and Outfitting/Installation Certified Specialist - Jeff Guerino.  Participate in both clinics or pick and choose your interest(s)!
 
 
 

The planned agenda for this next "Paddling Skills Clinic" is as follows:
 

  • Brief review of prior clinics
  • "Self Rescue"
  • "Paddling Strokes"
  • The "Eskimo Rescue"
  • The "H Rescue"
  • OR custom your paddling requests

All are welcome to use their own kayak and paddling gear and/or BHP can provide a kayak, paddle, and PFD.  Additional equipment is subjective to availablity.  Please inquire.

All are welcome to bring your own kayak, canoe or multisport watercraft for outfitting and installation tips and suggestions.  Custom your own boat or see what BHP is "up to"!  Test Paddle New 09' models... BHP; where everyday is a demo day...!

 

Multi paddling skill levels and/or novice to experienced fishermen are invited!  Prior participation is not required!  Families & friends are welcome!  Interested paddlers are encouraged to call BHP at (800) 445-0953 with any further questions and/or to reserve a spot in either clinic or workshop.  Giving BHP an advance "heads up" is not essential, but much appreciated!
